BFM
stands for
Biblical Faith Ministries.
In 1950, a
pastor (with a Jewish family heritage) named Elbert G. Peak began publishing a
small Bible-study paper called The Good News Round-Up. Little did he know
that during the next 50 years it would grow into one of the most unique journals
of Biblical and prophetic studies around. In 1978 Dr. E. G. Peak was moved by
the closeness of the Messiah's Coming, to change the publications's emphasis to
the study of Bible prophecy and to change its' name to The Prophetic
Round-Up.
1978 also
saw Dr. Elbert G. Peak's older brother join him in the ever-growing work of
Biblical Faith Ministries. The entrance of seminary professor Dr. Luther C.
Peak, brought a real scholar to The Round-Up. Dr. Luther C. Peak remains
a much beloved and great teacher of the Word to Round-Up readers. He has and
continues to be a great inspiration to all those involved with the work of
Biblical Faith Ministries. (Dr. L.C. Peak passed away Sept. 13, 2004 - 6 days away from his 96th birthday
-
.)
1978 proved to be a great year as Dr. Elbert G. Peak began a
television ministry-program designed to focus on prophetic studies and the
coming of the Messiah. He launched the Bible Treasury Telecast, a weekly Bible
study program broadcast mainly in West-Central Texas and New Mexico, although it
did enjoy nationwide (and worldwide) satellite coverage at one time. Transcripts
of this popular program appear in The Round-Up magazine as 'Closed Caption.'
In 1983,
one of the last "Jewish cowboys" joined the BFM team as The Prophetic
Round-Up welcomed Dr. Elbert G. Peak's son, Sam. Sam is a
"revert" to Torah-Judaism and the Torah way of life. Sam Peak is in a unique position to help Christians
understand Judaism and the Jewishness (or lack thereof) of the Christian
faith. His insight into New Testament texts is greatly enhanced by his
Judaism, and he remains a popular teacher of Judaism to largely Christian
audiences.
Since Sam came on board both of the senior Peaks have retired
from pastorates and seminaries, and the work has literally exploded. The Prophetic
Round-Up magazine is now a full-color 32 page journal published bi-monthly. BFM
organizes at least two study-tours to the beloved Land of Israel a year and
sometimes more. And although the senior Peaks do not travel as much any more,
Sam carries a very full speaking schedule lecturing on the Jewish Roots of
Christianity and teaching Jewish Studies, as well as the beauty of Judaism.
With G-d's help The Prophetic Round-Up magazine has been
blessed with several excellent Jewish and Christian writers who are not afraid
to appear in a magazine together. Professor Eugene Narrett is an excellent Torah
scholar and has such a beloved Nephesh Yehudi (Jewish soul). Dr. Kenneth R.
Cooper is a Christian scholar who has a real gift in writing to the heart. Paul
Singleterry is a great Christian preacher who realizes that replacement
theology is not correct, Israel is still in the plan of G-d. And The Round-Up is
also blessed with many other Jews and Christians (most of them in Israel) who
write for us from time to time.
As
our beloved brother Professor Narrett is fond of saying: "We greet you in the spirit of our father
Avraham,"
welcome to the online work of BFM, it is our sincere prayer that it is a
blessing to you from the wonderful L-rd that we serve. We value you and ask that
you help us sound the shofar of repentance - Return to G-d, the G-d of Israel!
Baruch Hashem - Blessed is He!
It is with great regret that the printed edition of The
Round-Up is suspended at this time.
